Hi, I’m Ally!

When I was five years old I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called ulcerative colitis. To most, this condition remains unseen, an invisible challenge I navigate that few people would ever suspect unless I chose to share it. Invisible illnesses often go unmentioned in daily conversations, leading to a lack of understanding.  

Therefore, it is my mission to openly share the struggles and successes of my health journey. Through this platform, I aim to provide accessible research to educate and normalize ulcerative colitis, and by extension, other invisible autoimmune diseases. Beyond my personal narrative, this website will explore the particular characteristics of ulcerative colitis, highlight the significant mental health implications of living with an invisible disease, identify treatments for ulcerative colitis, and offer supportive resources.  

Despite the trials and tribulations that I my experience with ulcerative colitis has presented, my story is ultimately one of perseverance and triumph. My goal with this platform is to extend a sense of positivity to others who are navigating life with an invisible disease and provide them with support, information, and hope.
